Their story

ABOUT Angie

Angie has spent the last 10 years in employee benefit consulting. Her journey into this profession was profoundly influenced by personal adversity. At the age of 23, she faced a diagnosis of cancer and later became a Type 1 Diabetic. Through navigating the complexities of the healthcare system firsthand, she recognized the critical importance of empowering individuals to navigate it effectively.

This personal experience fuels her passion for assisting others and their families in understanding and accessing the resources they need. In 2018 she was grateful to merge her book of business with a like minded individual, Jon Chaney. Together they work to guide employers through the intricacies of healthcare procurement. This task demands innovation and courage, as it often involves breaking away from conventional norms.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I cherish spending quality time with my family. Whether cheering on my children at their sporting events, immersing myself in a good book, exploring nature through hiking, or giving back to the community through volunteering, I strive to embrace life's diverse experiences. As a family, we've embarked on an exciting quest to visit every major league baseball stadium across the United States—an adventure that reflects our shared love for exploration and connection.

ABOUT Jon

Jon has spent over twenty years in employee benefits and risk management.  He is a Certified Health Rosetta Advisor, with CBIZ. Jon’s passion is building high-performance health plans for companies and their employees.  Because he believes that our current healthcare plans are designed to benefit everyone Except Employers and their Employees, he enjoys disrupting the status quo by eliminating the misaligned incentives and creating transparency with better outcomes.

Understanding that fixing healthcare takes a community of like-minded advisors and realizing that others have greater gifts and passions for certain aspects of the healthcare system, Jon began to merge his practice with Angie Drake in 2018.  Knowing that two sets of eyes and ears are better than one, and realizing that we each have complimentary gifts, we believe this combined advisory role better positions our clients for success. While Jon’s passion for defeating the “it is what it is” mindset is one that drives him, his greatest joy and fulfillment comes from his wife, Jennifer and their three daughters, Keller, Campbell and Carsyn.
